Book parameters update not working

I am very impressed with the potential of this program and am tempted to purchase it, however, I have come across a major problem.
I am using the trial version of the product and am trying to use the update book parameters feature to download the related info, book covers, etc for any of my ebooks in my library. I have tried searches using the book title and both versions of ISBN but the little update dialogue window always returns no hits, even when I select all the possible sites to search (not just Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com and Books.Google.com). In fact sometimes I even get an exception error saying: "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation".
What is wrong? I really want to use this very convenient feature but if it doesn't work then that is a deal breaker for me & I'll be forced to look somewhere else for a program to organise my library.

Hi Charrgrill,
It looks like you work over proxy server. Alfa Ebooks Manager by default uses internet connection settings from Internet Explorer. And if you have set a proxy their and it doesn't respond, the software also can't connect to the Internet.
The second possible reason is your firewall that doesn't allow the software to access the Internet.
