Crash scanning 2TB hard disk

I have screenshot when the error appeared. My computer has 16 GB RAM (memory used 50%), Windows 7 64-bit, i5-3rd-Gen and it said "SystemOutOfMemoryExecption". Total files being scanned was around 33k. It crashed around 11k.

For next version, can you add multiple selections on directory scan ? If your program cannot handle huge file in one run so I can select several directory to avoid memory choking.

OR

I just rescan again and stop it, and save. If I start scan again, will it continue or rescan from the beginning ? I will check. Can you add continue scan from last position if cureent version rescan from the beginning.

Thanks

We don't recommend to scan such large drives in one time because only after scan you select what books to add to the database, so while scanning all data is stored in RAM.

What is the size of your e-library?
Does it occupy the whole disk?

In the Scan tool you can select the folder where your library is stored

I know that I can selecet single directory. Could you add multiple directory selection ?

I'm thinking study the calibre source code and tweak it like yours. As a student I have so many free time to study :), rather than complaining in this forum

Thanks
