GUI not loading under Windows 7 (64 bit)

Hello,

I have installed the program and Microsoft .NET Framework 4. When I try to launch the application, the graphical user interface does not load. (The process is started, however). What am I supposed to do?

Thanks!

Hi, I has the same problem. I recommend to deinstall everything (Alfa ebook and Microsoft .net framework). After that restart and reinstall the software. In my case I resolve the problem when I installed the framework 4 that is coming with the alfa software. If you try to install another version of framwork or version from the website of microsoft is not gonna work.

Thanks a lot. Unfortunately, this did not work for me. Maybe this is due to NET framework updates, which are downloaded and installed by Windows Update after the installation is done.

Let’s wait for developers’ response.

Yevgeniy,
make sure that you have .Net Framework 4 Full, but not .Net Framework 4 Client Profile

In addition to .Net Framework 4 Client Profile, I have .Net Framework 4 Extended and both were downloaded by your installer. Any ideas?

no, please remove them, and install .Net 4 using this link:

Well, I:
(1) removed them;
(2) rebooted;
(3) followed your link and downloaded the Web installer (dotNetFx40_Full_setup.exe, 869 Kb); and
(4) completed the installation.

Guess what? It installed Microsoft .Net Framework 4 Client Profile and Microsoft .Net Framework 4 Extended. Where do I find the “Full” version, then?

No, no. Same thing. Take a look at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc656912.aspx:

The .NET Framework is made up of the .NET Framework 4 Client Profile and .NET Framework 4 Extended components that exist separately in Programs and Features.

So, basically, my NET installation seems to be correct.

Sorry for posting here three years later, but I have the very same Problem.

I (would like to) use the Professional version but everytime I try to start the program, nothing happens except that my explorer window does not react anymore.

The free version does work perfectly...

Thank you,

Jenny

Jenny,
Please try to uninstall the free version and delete the settings folder: c:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Alfa.NetSoft\Alfa Ebooks Manager\

And then install the Pro version

I removed everything, then I rebooted and installed the Pro version.

It still shows no windows.
Although my task manager does show the process, it runs with 112k ram and if I try to stop it nothing happens.

When I try the compatibility mode, it throws a Net Framework error, but i reinstalled that, too. Actually with the cleanup tool from Microsoft.

Net Framework is installed...

For now I use the program with the Win 7 Pro XP mode feature, this works fine :)

Jenny, please check that you have exactly .Net Framework 4 Full, not .Net Framework 4.5
