Multiple genres per book
I now have 8 different ebook managers on my computer trying to find the right one, and right know yours is leading the pack. But of course I wouldn't have so many if they all worked the way I wanted them to. The next closest for those who are looking are a multiformat database Datacrow, and a no longer developed but easy to use Myebooklibrary. I really have to echo much of what has already been said: Would love an HD scan for files- ebooklibrary the best I have found- look forward to the next verison. When will that be? Oh, and if included pls multiformat discovery, ie .chm, .pdf, .djvu, .html, ect Ease and amount of metadata- Love your program for this Does need the ability to cross genre - Possibly the only reason I wouldn't use your program- Myebooklibrary does this well. The panel thumbs are very pixelated any solution to this? But again congratulations on a great product, look forward to using for years to come

Hi and thanks for your feedback.
We plan to implement multiple genres per book soon.
Re thumbnail size - currently the thumbnail images are stored in the database in binary format. This was made for faster software performance. That's why their size is not large. But in one of future releases we will let users store thumbnails in a separate folder, in this case their size will be larger.
I just bought Alfa Ebook Manager and so far am very pleased with it except for the inability to add more than one genre per book. I have many books that fit under multiple genres and it would be hugely helpful to be able to file them under all applicable genres. My most common browsing method is by genre and it's frustrating when I don't find a book because I had to make a choice with a book that could have been categorized multiple ways. This is the only thing for me that makes me not feel quite settled on my decision and still keeping my eye out for other ebook managers. It's a shame, because except for this single (but major) issue this software blows away all other ebook managers I've tried.
I see that it was over a year ago since this suggestion was made, so I just want to chime in and say more than one person wants this feature. Please include this feature in your next version.
Hi Okapia, thanks for your feedback
I confirm that we will implement multiple genres per book in the next version or in its first update
How about the ability to add "tags" to books. This would actually be better than multiple genres. A book on "C++ Programming Algorithms for Stock Market Analysis" might be tagged as:
- Programming
- C++
- Algorithms
- Stock Market
- Technical Analysis
I could then easily (and flexibly) filter books by tags, and not have to worry about searching multiple genres for a particular type of book. Also, some books (which cross two disciplines) are difficult to categorize any other way. For example, particle physics and astrophysics. Which is it? It's neither and both... it's a new discipline that will soon have its own name and category.
Yes, tags - is a good idea, but it needs a proper implementation in order to avoid misspelling in tags.
When we develop this technology, we'll include tags field in the book card
