For explorer sections that may contain long (and growing) lists of items (like genre, author, publisher, etc), please add the option to hide items that do not pertain to the books in the current library. It could be a check box like "Show Only Library Items".

The problem is that when I have say a library of just web development books, I do not want to see all 703+ genres that are available when most of them are not related to the books in the library.

bluueskyy,
What do you mean by "Library", a separate database?

Yes, I am equating a library to a database. As I move things to other databases or remove them, old data (like genre, author, publisher, etc) stays in the database even though no books in the database relate to the the data. Perhaps it would make more sense to have a Clean Data database tool to remove old data that does not relate to any books in the database.

ok, thank you for the idea
For now you can quickly delete unused authors, tags, series etc. by opening lookup, sorting by Used field and selecting-deleting them
The problem is only with Genres, because they have tree-structure. We'll need to add some tool for deleting them
